National Breast Cancer Awareness Day
Today, 22nd October 2021 marks the annual National Breast Cancer Awareness Day. A huge thanks to Kim and Sally for their amazing efforts at Waitrose, Bagshot raising money for our BRAs Charity! To donate please visit our page on the Frimley Health Charity website.
Breast Research and Support (BRAs)
Following on from the highly successful Breast Care Appeal, we are raising money to enable Frimley Park Hospital to carry out research into breast cancer. On behalf of the breast team I would like to announce a new charity ‘BRAS’.
Here we are at the launch event held at The Aviator in October 2019. I am very grateful for our patients, who’s courage is the teams main driver to look to the future in confidence. We have celebrated a successful fundraising campaign of three years and the amazing spirit of giving of our community.
Many have already helped; individuals, patients and their relatives, companies and retailers. Sally and Kim and their families from Fleet, were the main drivers of the hard work during the fundraising, when they rallied a whole community by painting ‘Fleet Pink’, for a whole week. And we are so lucky to have them back with us again on this appeal.
If you would like to help us by hosting a fundraising event, we would love to hear from you and help you in any way we can.

Thank you.
Macmillan Fundraising Event
The Macmillan Team held another fundraising event at Pennyhill Park Hotel, where I got to sample some culinary delights created by head patisserie chef Sarah Frankland. You may have seen Sarah on this year’s Professional Bake Off. The team managed to raise £6,000 which will go towards funding the much-needed Macmillan Nurses.
Tour de Frimley 2019
For the 6th year running, I was pleased to be invited back to join the Tour de Frimley team as medical support. Here they are at the finish line after 500 grueling miles at the foot of the Pyrenees in Spain. This year’s challenge fundraised for the Frimley Health Charity Stroke Appeal to help support patients on their long road to recovery through a new build, investment in new technologies and equipment.

Surrey Heath Mayors Ball 2019
I was honored to be invited to this year’s Surrey Heath Mayors Ball at the Royal Military Acadamy Sandhurst (RMAS), where I represented the Frimley Health Charity Breast Appeal; one of three chosen charities that the Mayor is supporting this year. Thank you for all you have and continue to fundraise. These much-needed funds will go to equipping our new Breast Unit with state-of-the-art equipment to help diagnose and treat breast cancer much sooner for our local population.
