Thanks to Camberley’s newest WI group for inviting me to talk on Breast Awareness. Also an exciting opportunity for me to showcase the plans for Frimley’s new Breast Unit!
Today I was humbled to receive my iWantGreatCare certificate of excellent award. This is all down to the high number of positive reviews that have been left by patients and colleagues over the past 12 months. Thank you very much to all of you who have left a review of my care. If anyone wishes to leave a review, either positive or negative, please visit my iWantGreatCare page. All reviews are greatly received and much appreciated.
On 30th July 2018, we were visited by the Surrey Heath Mayor as the Frimley Health Charity Breast Care Appeal is one of his chosen charities this year. He was impressed to hear of our plans to develop a stand alone breast cancer unit to include a 3D mammography machine at Frimley Park Hospital right here in Surrey Heath. The clarity of images from this new machine will help the breast care team to diagnose cancer & other abnormalities at an earlier stage. The ground works for the new build are due to start imminently and I will update build progress as it happens.
You can support all three of the Surrey Heath Mayor’s chosen charities at https://
I am pleased to announce that I will once again be joining the Tour de Frimley team in 2019 as a member of their support team (medical and logistics). For a change of scenery the team will be cycling to Spain and part of the Pyrenees mountain range all in aid of the Frimley Health Charity Stroke Appeal. The challenge is sponsored by the Parkside Suite, Frimley for whom I am Clinical Lead and supported by 4th Batallion Princess of Wales Royal regiment (4PWRR). The challenge will occur in the Summer of 2019 with more details to follow. To sponsor the team, please visit their Just Giving page.
I was proud and privileged to receive the following communication from the CEO and Founder of iWantGreatCare.
“Congratulations, you have been awarded the Certificate of Excellence 2018. I am delighted to to contact you with this news, as you are one of only a handful of UK clinicians to receive this powerful endorsement of the way in which you deliver care to all your patients. Certificates are only awarded to those clinicians whose patients consistently rate them as delivering great care. You truly deserve to be acknowledged for this fantastic achievement.”
My certificate is currently in the post and I look forward to sharing it with you. Thank you to all those that have taken the time to leave me a review on iWantGreatCare or send in cards of thanks. It means a lot to me.
I was the guest of honour at Wise & Co’s breast awareness event, held on 12th October to coincide with Wear it Pink month. The well-attended event at Brasserie Blanc in Castle Street was organised by the Farnham-based chartered accountants to help raise awareness of breast cancer across the local business community. Wise & Co has subsequently donated £500 to support the breast unit at Frimley Park Hospital where I work. Click here for the full Farnham Herald article, or here for the Wise & Co press release.
New flyers promoting the services I provide at Parkside Suite, Frimley Park Hospital are hot of the press!

For the third year running I was lucky enough to be part of the Tour de Frimley support crew, looking after 16 brave cyclists who covered nearly 700 miles in Northern France for the Frimley Park Hospital Breast Care Appeal. We left Frimley on 27th August 2016 and returned on 4th September. To date the team have raised about £30,000 which is their most successful year to date. You can follow their full journey on their Facebook page. With Tour de Frimley and Ride 4 Frimley, cycling has achieved a staggering £100,000 in fundraising over the three years of the appeal. Thank you all very much for your efforts and commitment. Thank you also to the teams sponsors 3PWRR (The Tigers), Brooks and Partners, Brandtastic and GearedUp Cycles.
The Rotary Club of Farnham has presented cheques for £6,000 each to the Frimley Park Hospital Breast Unit and Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice following its successful Cyclathon earlier this year at Farnham Maltings. The two charities were chosen by Rotary president Ian Sargeant as his twin charities of the year. A total exceeding £12,000 had been raised and, with some funds still awaited, each charity has been given £6,000 with the possibility of some more at a later date. The Frimley cheque was awarded to myself, during a special dinner at the Blacknest Golf and Country Club near Bentley. Thank you for all your fundraising efforts! Three hairdressers proved they are a cut above the rest by raising thousands of pounds for Frimley Health Charity’s Breast Care Appeal. Nina Warden, Tracy Taplin and Sharon Lloyd held a ‘Be Beautiful Party Night’, which was attended by 130 people. The evening was opened by myself and raised £3,664 for the appeal. The three organisers later visited the hospital to present a giant cheque. Nina, owner of Be Beautiful Hair and Beauty, said: “We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible illness and wanted to do our best to help”.
