For the third year running I was lucky enough to be part of the Tour de Frimley support crew, looking after 16 brave cyclists who covered nearly 700 miles in Northern France for the Frimley Park Hospital Breast Care Appeal. We left Frimley on 27th August 2016 and returned on 4th September. To date the team have raised about £30,000 which is their most successful year to date. You can follow their full journey on their Facebook page. With Tour de Frimley and Ride 4 Frimley, cycling has achieved a staggering £100,000 in fundraising over the three years of the appeal. Thank you all very much for your efforts and commitment. Thank you also to the teams sponsors 3PWRR (The Tigers), Brooks and Partners, Brandtastic and GearedUp Cycles.
The Rotary Club of Farnham has presented cheques for £6,000 each to the Frimley Park Hospital Breast Unit and Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice following its successful Cyclathon earlier this year at Farnham Maltings. The two charities were chosen by Rotary president Ian Sargeant as his twin charities of the year. A total exceeding £12,000 had been raised and, with some funds still awaited, each charity has been given £6,000 with the possibility of some more at a later date. The Frimley cheque was awarded to myself, during a special dinner at the Blacknest Golf and Country Club near Bentley. Thank you for all your fundraising efforts! Three hairdressers proved they are a cut above the rest by raising thousands of pounds for Frimley Health Charity’s Breast Care Appeal. Nina Warden, Tracy Taplin and Sharon Lloyd held a ‘Be Beautiful Party Night’, which was attended by 130 people. The evening was opened by myself and raised £3,664 for the appeal. The three organisers later visited the hospital to present a giant cheque. Nina, owner of Be Beautiful Hair and Beauty, said: “We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible illness and wanted to do our best to help”. Fiona Hearn Consultant Radiologist and myself received a very generous donation from The Mall, Camberley following a range of fundraising activities. This brings us ever closer to our Breast Care Appeal target of £750,000!

This Bank Holiday saw the annual Run Frimley event, where over 2000 runners of all ages and abilities joined together to raise in excess of £60,000 for the Breast Care Appeal.
Graham Cole from TV’s ‘The Bill’ was on hand to award prizes to the best runners and fancy dress costumes.
A huge thank you to all that participated, organised and volunteered to support the event. We look forward to see you all and many more in 2017!
Paint Fleet Pink is a fundraising week taking place in Fleet, Hampshire from 10th to 17th October 2015. With the dedicated support of many Fleet businesses and a few celebrities, the organisers Kim Knight and Sally Herman have an incredible line-up of unique events and people, who have come forward to help paint the town pink and support their local hospital. This was a great event to be involved in. The final amount raised is yet to be publicised but it’s expected to be £20k+ which is absolutely amazing. Thank you Fleet!
In May 2015 I ‘ran’ 10km in support of all those lovely people raising money for our Breast Care Appeal. Although I did train, I will certainly be training harder for next year! A great day was had by all and we saw record numbers of runners and money raised! To the left is a pic of my trainers (Jade and Chris) and me. Thank you for getting me over the finish line in one piece.
Please keep an eye on Frimley Park Hospital Charity to get involved next year. See you at the start line!
The launch of our Breast Care Appeal in October 2013 made it to BBC Surrey Local News! This is Frimley Park Hospital Charity’s most ambitious fundraising project to date.
